Job Duties
- Prepare and cook to order foods for patient meal service, cafeteria and catering or special events
- Portion food items into appropriate serving containers utilizing proper portion sizes
- Garnish food according to recipes and established garnishing guidelines
- Demonstrate safe and effective operation of cooking equipment including ranges, fryers, ovens and grills
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the food production area following HACCP principles
- Verify accuracy of shipments and inspect food supplies for damages and defects
- Distribute food and supplies in accordance with established par levels and food and beverage request forms
- Serve as a quality assurance control point by tasting prepared foods and completing taste panel logs
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to management
