Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least six months of applicable experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Willingness to obtain Serv Safe certification within designated timeframe if required
  • Completion of annual continuing education and mandatory in-services
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Basic Life Support certification if required
  • Valid Driver’s License if required
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts including evenings

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
  • Basic math skills
  • Minimum of six months applicable experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk distances
  • Willingness to obtain Serv Safe certification and other endorsements if required
  • Fulfillment of departmental and facility continuing education including safety and mandatory trainings
  • Basic Life Support may be required depending on location
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assemble baked goods and cooked foods
  • Cook, season, and portion food for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Adhere to food quality standards regarding appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in cooking and serving areas
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, grills, deep fat fryers, and dishwashers
  • Follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines
  • Document HACCP procedures, temperatures, and outcomes to ensure food safety
