Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Completion or willingness to obtain ServSafe certification within designated timeframe, depending on location
  • Completion of annual continuing education requirements including safety education and mandatory in-services
  • Basic Life Support certification may be required depending on location
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout facility

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months of applicable cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation processes
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare baked goods and cook meals according to menu and dietary requirements
  • Season and portion food for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Adhere to food quality standards including appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in cooking and serving areas
  • Maintain proper labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
  • Follow standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines to ensure food safety
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and dishwashers
