Job Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a culinary position
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently

Job Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a culinary position
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • Assist with resolving guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements
  • Meet with Chef on Duty to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
  • Complete opening duties including setting up workstation, inspecting tools and equipment, checking production schedule, establishing priority items, informing Chef of supplies needed, putting away food deliveries, starting prep work, organizing prep items
  • Continue prep work after the meal period for the next meal service
  • Check point of sale printer and prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guide
  • Inform F&B service staff of 86'd items and available specials
  • Communicate assistance needs during busy periods to Chef on Duty
  • Inform Chef on Duty of excess items for specials or use elsewhere
  • Maintain proper storage procedures
  • Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost
  • Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
  • Transport empty dirty pots and pans
  • Direct and assist Stewards for efficient clean-up
  • Breakdown work station and complete closing duties including returning food items, rotating product, wrapping and labeling stored items, organizing storage areas, cleaning prep areas and equipment, cooling hot items, turning off unnecessary equipment, restocking depleted items, and reviewing status with Head Cook
  • Assist with inventories
  • Assist in plating banquets
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule
  • Perform duties in other kitchen areas as assigned
  • Attend designated meetings
  • Maintain company image and vision
  • Make optimal use of financial resources
  • Participate in ongoing training and encourage personal development of associates
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operations
  • Be integral part of future company projects development
