Job Requirements

  • Current NAF employee
  • proof of eligibility by closing date 10/20/2025
  • experience in food preparation and team leadership
  • ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds frequently and over 40 pounds occasionally
  • physical capability for continuous standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending
  • no education substitution allowed
  • foreign education equivalency proof if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish cooking assignments
  • thorough knowledge of food preparation and characteristics of foods
  • experience in a restaurant, club, cafeteria or similar establishment
  • able to plan, coordinate and time meals appropriately
  • capable of adjusting recipes for servings, substitutions, and seasoning
  • able to recognize food freshness and judge prepared food quality
  • physically able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
  • continuous standing, walking and bending capabilities

Job Duties

  • Lead three or more workers to accomplish cooking assignments
  • plan, coordinate and time sequence steps needed to prepare entire meals
  • adjust recipes for servings required, substitutions and seasoning
  • recognize characteristics of foods to determine freshness
  • judge prepared food by color, consistency, temperature, odor and taste
  • frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds
  • continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
