Job Description

Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) plays a vital role in enhancing the Quality of Life for military personnel through its Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department. The MWR department offers a comprehensive array of services including fitness, recreation, lodging, and food and beverage programs designed to support service members, their families, retired military personnel, and civilian employees. Job Requirements

  • No minimum education requirement
  • Experience or training in industrial or restaurant food preparation
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Understanding of food freshness and quality indicators
  • Knowledge of menu composition and cost accounting
  • Ability to plan and coordinate food preparation steps

Job Qualifications

  • Understanding of kitchen mechanical equipment operation
  • Knowledge of food storage practices
  • Ability to compose and adjust menus
  • Skills to train kitchen staff
  • Experience or training in large-scale food preparation
  • Ability to lead kitchen staff effectively
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills to interpret recipes and adjust portions
  • Knowledge of elementary cost accounting preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate mechanical kitchen equipment efficiently
  • Ensure proper food storage and quality
  • Compose and adjust menus

  • Judge food quality by color, consistency, temperature, odor and taste
