Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in food services
  • Food handler permit in Kentucky within 30 days or ServSafe certification within 30 days
  • Preferred one year of hospital experience
  • Preferred associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to comply with all food safety regulations
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in food services
  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations
  • Ability to operate common kitchen equipment safely
  • Experience in high-volume food preparation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Preferred one year of hospital experience
  • Preferred associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties

  • Champion food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation
  • Prepare and serve food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills
  • Modify preparations to account for food allergies
  • Maintain proper labeling of food products and ensure storage of food equipment and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines
  • Perform washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas
