Job Requirements

  • Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility
  • knowledge of food production, service and sanitation
  • position may require work every other weekend depending on the department’s needs

Job Qualifications

  • Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility
  • knowledge of food production, service and sanitation
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Serv Safe certified preferred
  • prior experience in food service preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete tasks as outlined in the job flow for the daily position assigned
  • retrieve, prep and prepare items according to the daily production sheets and recipes
  • follow all HACCP guidelines for food and physical safety
  • prepare food for patients and others using a variety of production tools, techniques and equipment
  • ensure meal service demands are met and maintain a sanitary work environment
  • take customer orders and prepare food to their specifications
  • grill, cook, and fry foods
  • plan and manage work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time
  • grill and garnish hamburgers and other meats
  • perform simple food preparation tasks such as slicing up meats and vegetables
  • complete orders from steam tables, plate the food, and serve to the customers
  • order supplies and stock the shelves
  • rotate food and stamp the time and date on the food in the coolers
  • clean food preparation equipment and areas
