  • Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation
  • Position may require work every other weekend depending on department needs

Job Qualifications

  • Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility
  • Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary degree or certification preferred
  • ServSafe certified preferred
  • Prior experience in food service preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete tasks as outlined in the job flow for the daily position assigned
  • Retrieve, prep and prepare items according to the daily production sheets and recipes
  • Follow all HACCP guidelines for food and physical safety
  • Prepare food for patients and others using a variety of production tools, techniques and equipment
  • Ensure meal service demands are met and maintain a sanitary work environment
  • Take customer orders and prepare food to their specifications
  • Grill, cook, and fry foods
  • Plan and manage work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time
  • Grill and garnish hamburgers and other meats
  • Perform simple food preparation tasks, such as slicing up meats and vegetables
  • Complete orders from steam tables, plate the food, and serve to the customers
  • Order supplies and stock the shelves
  • Rotate food and stamp the time and date on the food in the coolers
  • Clean food preparation equipment and areas
