Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • One year cooking experience in restaurant, hotel or healthcare preferably with therapeutic diets
  • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
  • Willingness to cross-train within the Food Service Department
  • Ability to organize time and promote teamwork
  • Physical ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs and push/pull 150-200 lbs
  • Availability to work evening shift
  • Compliance with safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • One year cooking experience in restaurant, hotel, or healthcare settings preferably with therapeutic diets
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
  • Ability to organize time and promote teamwork
  • Willingness to cross-train within the Food Service Department
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Preferred two or more years cooking experience
  • Serv-Safe certification
  • Bilingual skills
  • Catering and computer skills
  • AA or culinary degree

Job Duties

  • Prepare food for patients, catering or cafeteria using standardized recipes
  • Meet meal service deadlines by timely food preparation
  • Ensure food meets standards of color, texture, appearance and temperature
  • Serve and garnish food attractively
  • Handle food using appropriate safety and sanitation standards
  • Deliver and/or serve food as required
  • Cross-train within the Food Service Department as necessary
