Job Description

The Indiana Convention Center is a premier convention facility located in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Established originally in 1972, it has grown through five major expansions to become one of the largest and most versatile convention centers in the United States. The facility hosts a wide range of events, from international conventions and trade shows to local exhibitions and entertainment gatherings. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in food preparation in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility in an often tightly quartered environment
  • Have the ability to bend and lift up to 30 pounds frequently
  • Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in a confined space
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Job Duties

  • Utilize proper recipes, equipment, tools and utensils
  • Ensure that food is prepared, portioned, held and served at correct temperatures and presented according to standards
  • Assist in coordinating the flow of work within the culinary department to maximize quality and efficiency
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Support team members during high volume events
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
