Job Qualifications
- able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- at least 18 years of age
- able to work independently with some supervision and guidance
- knowledge of culinary practices and food safety standards
- strong communication skills
- team leadership experience preferred
- ability to work under pressure and maintain quality
- basic math skills for pricing items
Job Duties
- guides and leads other cooks and kitchen employees
- staffs, schedules, evaluates, trains, develops and monitors culinary team
- works closely with the Room Chef and Sous Chefs
- works all stations in the outlet with flexibility to assist the team
- reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food
- practices safety standards at all times
- measures, mixes, bakes, roasts, broils, and steams foods according to recipes
- carves, portions, and garnishes foods
- washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits
- butchers chickens, fish, and shellfish
- prices menu items
- follows company service standards model
- adjusts cooking equipment controls
- tests foods by tasting, smelling, and piercing
- performs other assigned duties
