Job Qualifications

  • able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • at least 18 years of age
  • able to work independently with some supervision and guidance
  • knowledge of culinary practices and food safety standards
  • strong communication skills
  • team leadership experience preferred
  • ability to work under pressure and maintain quality
  • basic math skills for pricing items

Job Duties

  • guides and leads other cooks and kitchen employees
  • staffs, schedules, evaluates, trains, develops and monitors culinary team
  • works closely with the Room Chef and Sous Chefs
  • works all stations in the outlet with flexibility to assist the team
  • reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food
  • practices safety standards at all times
  • measures, mixes, bakes, roasts, broils, and steams foods according to recipes
  • carves, portions, and garnishes foods
  • washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits
  • butchers chickens, fish, and shellfish
  • prices menu items
  • follows company service standards model
  • adjusts cooking equipment controls
  • tests foods by tasting, smelling, and piercing
  • performs other assigned duties
