Job Requirements
- 1-3 years experience as a cook at a quality style hotel or restaurant
- food handling certificate
- high school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- certification of culinary training or apprenticeship

Job Duties
- Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials
- maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- use equipment correctly and only as intended
- anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly
- maintain positive guest relations
- be familiar with hotel services, features and local attractions
- resolve guest complaints ensuring satisfaction
- monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas
- comply with state sanitation and health regulations
- review assignments and anticipated business levels with Chef or Sous Chef
- complete opening duties including workstation setup, equipment inspection, production scheduling, and requisition supplies
- start prep work for daily items
- prepare dessert menu items for various outlets
- produce banquet centerpieces and display attractively
- prepare amenity orders for room service
- inform Chef of shortages
- assist Baker
- maintain proper storage procedures
- minimize waste and maintain food cost controls
- report excess items for specials use
- disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
- transport dirty pots and pans to wash station
- assist Stewards in cleanup
- complete closing duties including returning food items to storage, rotating products, wrapping and labeling, cleaning storage areas and prep surfaces, icing hot items, turning off equipment, restocking, and reviewing work status with Chef
- assist with inventories
- assist in banquet plating
- follow maintenance and cleaning schedules
- perform duties in other kitchen areas as assigned
