Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years relevant culinary experience
- Valid Food Handler's Certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties
- Willingness to adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume or upscale kitchen environment
- Proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques including sautéing, grilling, roasting, and plating
- Demonstrated ability to lead and train kitchen staff with strong organizational and communication skills
- Proven track record of maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency under pressure
- Valid Food Handler's Certification
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends with availability for morning, noon, and evening shifts
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
Job Duties
- Possess advanced culinary understanding of plating techniques and standards
- Display continued growth and initiative to improve culinary skills daily
- Create meals and prepare food items according to recipes independently
- Perform all opening and closing kitchen responsibilities independently
- Operate, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment including dishwasher, stove top, tilt skillets, grills, rotating oven, fryers, slicer
- Follow and enforce policies regarding handling, sanitation, storage and dispensing of food and beverage products as per State Food Handlers Certification
- Adhere to equipment and safety standards regarding clothing and appearance when working near and handling food
- Teach others proper culinary preparation and food presentation
- Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery of products
- Report any kitchen equipment maintenance required
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange and garnish food plates for guest delivery
- Assist in controlling food and labor costs
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards
- Assist with monthly inventory
