Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of related culinary or food preparation experience
  • Ability to operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 25 pounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and report unsafe conditions
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance
  • Flexibility to perform various kitchen duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Commitment to uphold company standards and policies

Job Duties

  • Prepare plate and platter presentations for banquets
  • Prepare cold foods
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing food
  • Prepare and cook food
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation
  • Test foods for doneness
  • Notify manager if food does not meet specifications
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • Set-up and break down workstation
  • Check temperature of appliances and food
  • Follow safety and security policies
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
  • Anticipate and address guests’ needs
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Answer telephones with etiquette
  • Develop positive working relationships
  • Support team goals
  • Adhere to quality standards
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting and reaching
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors
