Job Requirements

  • Able to understand basic English and follow simple verbal directions
  • Basic knowledge of production and operations in relevant kitchen areas
  • Familiarity with proper use and cleaning of kitchen equipment and machinery
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Able to stand and walk throughout shift
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Safety minded
  • Able to follow safety rules and regulations
  • Able to attend mandatory meetings
  • Available to work indoors in hot, moist, and fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Follow all specifications to properly and efficiently prepare pantry and pastry items
  • Ensure pantry station and walk-in box are kept clean and sanitary according to company standards and local health guidelines
  • Ensure consistent availability of sufficient food items
  • Communicate all guest requests to an appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner
  • Personally ensure the quality and quantity of all food items on the station
  • Take daily inventory of all items in the walk-in and assist in ordering stock as directed
  • Rotate food in the refrigerator to minimize waste and spoilage
  • Notify supervisor promptly of product spoilage
  • Maintain cleanliness of station, refrigeration, freezer, and walk-ins
  • Report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions immediately
  • Maintain safety of work areas at all times
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury
  • Comply with company and departmental safety rules and proper handling of equipment
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Perform other tasks including cross-training as directed
