Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in various climates and conditions involving water, steam, chemicals, and heat
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, bend, reach, stoop, climb, and carry items for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to endure heat and moist conditions
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with internal and external guests
  • Understanding of safe power use and food storage

Job Qualifications

  • Basic culinary knowledge
  • Understanding of culinary terms
  • Ability to operate kitchen tools such as peelers, knives, ovens, grills, and fryolators
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards and procedures
  • Ability to alert management to equipment failures or needed maintenance
  • Minimum of one-year food service experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Ability to follow daily production schedules and checklists
  • Strong ability to work with minimum supervision

Job Duties

  • Perform entry-level kitchen duties including pantry and salad preparation
  • Properly clean and pare vegetables
  • Prepare food items using broiling, sautéing, frying, boiling, steaming, baking, and grilling methods
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper presentation of food lines
  • Take and record temperatures at required times to comply with health code requirements
  • Follow procedures to ensure proper food and personal safety
  • Maintain all areas to corporate standards for public space viewing
  • Maintain a positive and polite demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
