Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-year culinary degree or commensurate experience
- 7+ years experience in culinary industry
- ability to read and prepare standardized recipes
- ability to organize and prioritize daily par sheets
- understanding of proper food handling and kitchen equipment
- effective communication skills
- ability to delegate work fairly
- ability to assess situations and create strategies
- ability to multi-task while maintaining organization
- ability to sustain fast-paced work
- ability to adapt procedures and equipment
- understanding of expeditor system
- ability to carry trays and lift 30 lbs

Job Duties
- Read and understand standardized recipes
- develop new recipes
- make logical decisions relating to par levels
- ability to read banquet BEO
- set up daily mis-en-place
- assist in sample cooking of new dishes and establish recipe standards
- assist Chef's in food requisition to ensure sufficient inventory while minimizing waste
- ensure attractive placement of food items and show pieces on display
- receive food checks, event orders and prepare them to specifications
- send for requisitioned items from storeroom verifying quantity and quality
- re-organize refrigerators and restock items up to par
- supervise cleaning and proper handling of food leftovers
- assist the assigned Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in all duties
- act in place of Sous Chef in their absence
- follow safety and sanitation standards
- communicate effectively with staff
- maintain work station and assist with prep and cleaning
- assist other team members as needed
