Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food handler's card
  • Successful passage of State Competency Test for cooks or equivalent
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to properly clean kitchen area
  • Ability to assist in preparing large quantities of food
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships

  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • Ability to properly clean kitchen areas

  • Ability to assist Cook III in preparing large quantities of food
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner
  • Assume responsibility for replenishing food supplies during meal service periods
  • Assist in daily clean-up of kitchen and service areas
  • Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at scheduled intervals
  • Assume responsibility for proper storage and disposal of unused foods
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness including sanitary trash and garbage collection
  • Participate in in-service training as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal, Nutritionist or Cook III
