Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses or certifications per federal, state, and gaming regulations
  • must successfully pass background check
  • must successfully pass drug screening
  • must be at least eighteen years of age

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary apprenticeship or associate's degree from a culinary institution preferred
  • some industry experience preferred
  • knowledge of basic food preparation and line work
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of international cuisines
  • ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
  • ability to use all equipment associated with the position including choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders
  • ability to be flexible with work shifts and schedules

Job Duties

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose the establishment for gaming entertainment
  • prepares foods that are grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached, or prepared in the pantry
  • ensures plates or pans are aesthetically appealing and cooked to specification
  • recognizes and properly applies a variety of sauces on entrees
  • keeps workstation neat and clean
  • assists co-workers for efficient kitchen operation
  • performs duties for special events or parties as needed
  • ensures cleanliness and safety of work area
  • properly stores food including items from previous functions
  • ensures items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition
  • properly closes down workstations
  • participates in meetings and completes assigned follow-ups
  • seasons food according to recipes or company needs
  • assists other cooks during food assembly
  • performs cleaning and sanitizing duties before shift ends
  • performs work regularly and predictably
  • other duties as assigned
