Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of experience in quantity cookery
- Ability to instruct and supervise cooking activities
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation
- Ability to estimate and plan food quantities and cooking schedules
- Physical ability to tolerate kitchen heat and perform heavy lifting
- Availability to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in quantity cookery or equivalent combination of experience and training
- Knowledge of quantity cookery, kitchen safety and sanitation requirements
- Ability to instruct and supervise others
- Ability to perform menu planning and food purchasing
- Ability to tolerate kitchen heat and perform heavy lifting
- Good interpersonal skills to work well with others
Job Duties
- Prepare, season and cook food for patients, residents, employees and visitors
- Maintain and clean the work area
- Practice safe and sanitary handling of food, equipment and supplies
- Instruct and supervise others in cooking activities
- Estimate amounts of raw foods necessary to meet menu requirements
- Plan cooking schedules to meet scheduled meal times
- Perform menu planning and food purchasing as required
