Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in quantity cookery
  • Ability to instruct and supervise cooking activities
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation
  • Ability to estimate and plan food quantities and cooking schedules
  • Physical ability to tolerate kitchen heat and perform heavy lifting
  • Availability to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in quantity cookery or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Knowledge of quantity cookery, kitchen safety and sanitation requirements
  • Ability to instruct and supervise others
  • Ability to perform menu planning and food purchasing
  • Ability to tolerate kitchen heat and perform heavy lifting
  • Good interpersonal skills to work well with others

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season and cook food for patients, residents, employees and visitors
  • Maintain and clean the work area
  • Practice safe and sanitary handling of food, equipment and supplies
  • Instruct and supervise others in cooking activities
  • Estimate amounts of raw foods necessary to meet menu requirements
  • Plan cooking schedules to meet scheduled meal times
  • Perform menu planning and food purchasing as required
