Job Description

The role available within the Casino @ Dania Beach is for a skilled Cook who plays an essential part in the culinary operations. This position emphasizes preparing a diverse variety of food items using multiple cooking methods including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand consecutively for 8 hours
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must apply and obtain the appropriate state occupational gaming license including lifetime FBI criminal background check
  • Must pass drug testing as per company’s drug free workplace policy and applicable background checks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen or equivalent education/certification preferred
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license
  • Experience in hospitality preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong time management and culinary skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares a variety of food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • Cooks all food items in accordance with the company’s policies
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of food served
  • Knows and consistently follows standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service period
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Ensures proper tracking of food items by using the ticket system at all times
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Assists others in closing the kitchen
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
