Job Requirements

  • high school diploma
  • one to two years experience in preparing quantity food items
  • good communication skills
  • able to interpret and follow recipes
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • working knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • sanitation certified
  • able to access high and low areas
  • able to maneuver heavy objects up to 75 pounds
  • able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • able to meet time constraints in a fast-paced environment
  • able to perform cleaning tasks
  • able to safely use kitchen equipment
  • exposure to hazardous materials and conditions

Job Duties

  • ensure hot menu items are prepared according to standardized recipes
  • follow standardized recipes to maintain quality and quantities for dietary programs
  • document food temperatures before each service
  • assist with new product testing and recipe development
  • adhere to deadlines for food production for all meals and catering events
  • procure and prepare supplies from storeroom and refrigeration
  • maintain a safe and sanitary work area in compliance with health regulations
  • clean and sanitize work area and equipment
  • rotate and date food items properly
  • attend team and department meetings
  • perform other duties assigned by supervisor
