Job Qualifications
- Five years experience in volume food preparation
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English
- ability to perform basic math calculations
- capacity to maintain effective working relationships with military personnel and contractors
- capability to think, react calmly, and respond effectively to emergency situations
- ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment
- willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
Job Duties
- Prepare meals in large quantities using various cooking methods
- season and cook all cuts of meat, poultry, and fish
- boil, steam, or fry vegetables
- make gravies, soups, sauces, roasts, meat pies, fricassees, casseroles, and stews
- maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils
- adhere strictly to recipe guidelines and food preparation worksheets
- complete food preparation worksheets after each meal
- assist in food cost control and budget monitoring
- maintain safety precautions and ensure all employees meet safety requirements
- report equipment failures and safety issues to supervisors
- follow all organizational policies and food security practices
- perform other duties as assigned by the shift Lead Cook
