Job Requirements

  • must have English reading and verbal communication skills
  • must be able to write and follow written instructions in English
  • must perform basic math skills such as addition and subtraction
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • excellent time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • considerate interpersonal relations and strong customer service attitude

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent highly desirable but not required
  • serve safe certification strongly preferred or obtain QFO within 30 days of hire
  • culinary degree strongly preferred but not required
  • annual completion of ECHN mandatory education
  • attendance at departmental training provided by management
  • five or more years culinary experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Attend monthly department meetings
  • attend monthly departmental in-services
  • wear uniform following ECHN and department policy including appropriate hair covering
  • wash hands and wear gloves following serve-safe and regulatory requirements
  • complete all required paperwork such as HACCP logs and production sheets
  • assist co-workers and adjust daily routines to department needs
  • set up, restock and maintain a clean workstation following sanitation and safety rules
  • accurately follow package directions and recipes when preparing food
  • demonstrate proper cooking techniques ensuring quality and presentation
  • wear personal protective equipment as required
  • complete ECHN annual mandatory education on time
