Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Minimum two years experience in line or production cooking
- Valid California Food Handlers Card
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, stop, twist, stretch, squat, reach
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work on feet for prolonged periods
- Ability to complete post-offer physical agility test
- Ability to pass full consumer background check
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Ability to adhere to health and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- Minimum two years experience in high-volume line or production cooking preferably in specialty cuisine
- California Food Handlers Card
- Knowledge of food sanitation policies and procedures
- Experience in fast-paced commercial kitchen using commercial kitchen equipment
- Advanced knowledge of basic and specialty food products
- Advanced knife skills and ability to perform basic cooking methods
- Ability to prepare food from scratch
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic related to food and beverage preparation
- Flexibility to work in different kitchen areas
- Ability to take initiative and assist others
- Respectful and courteous communication skills
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and work with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to complete work with urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
Job Duties
- Review daily menu assignments with the Chef and prepare ingredients per direction
- Ensure preparation is completed and communicate with the Chef on recipes and portions
- Batch cook during meals based on demand and ensure food is presented and garnished appropriately
- Ensure ingredients are covered, labeled, and properly stored
- Verify entrees are prepared to the proper temperatures
- Assist with catering preparation as needed
- Cross train on cold and hot food stations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace during and after food preparation
- Setup and maintain station during meal service and clean station after service
- Perform weekly deep cleaning of work stations including hoods, stoves, and ovens
- Follow food preparation and sanitation directives set by Health Department
- Comply with internal policies on food safety and sanitation
- Perform other assigned duties including daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning and cross training
- Take and follow directions
- Work cooperatively with others
