Job Requirements

  • High school or vocational school graduate or equivalent or working toward diploma
  • good working knowledge of English
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled
  • good communication skills

  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Check menu and recipes in advance
  • help with all food pre-preparation such as peeling and cutting vegetables and soups
  • measure and weigh ingredients and prepare a variety of recipes
  • operate standard cooking equipment including mixing machines, steam kettles, stoves, food choppers, and slicers
  • maintain proper documentation for food production records
  • complete food temperature checks each meal and taste all food items prepared
  • prepare hot entrees, soups, and vegetables following recipes
  • perform advance preparation as indicated
  • observe food handling and production rules
  • assist in production, quality control, and safety and sanitation
  • serve food on cafeteria line
  • set up serving lines and replenish food as needed
  • keep quality of food exceptionally high by using good preparation techniques
  • enforce batch cooking standards and procedures
  • supervise food production, preparation and presentation to meet standards
  • assist with conducting taste panels
  • participate in menu planning with Food Services Director
  • assist other employees in performance of their jobs as directed by supervisor
