Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years commercial cooking experience in a high volume food service environment
- Obtain Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of entry
- Ability to work 6am to 2:30pm shifts including rotating weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow departmental policies and regulatory requirements
- Capacity to maintain food quality and safety standards
- Willingness to adapt to operational needs including shift or location changes
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years commercial cooking experience in a high-volume food service environment
- Ability to obtain Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of employment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience following standardized recipes for consistent food preparation
- Effective time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to train and guide junior staff members
Job Duties
- Produce quality food and beverages in quantity or cooked-to-order
- Maintain food quality and freshness in patient room service and dining services
- Follow standard practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Train Food Service Workers, Senior Food Service Workers, and Cook I personnel
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas daily
- Safely operate kitchen equipment
- Prepare assigned food items from standardized recipes with 100% accuracy
- Issue food items to designated areas and record product transactions accurately
- Perform daily checks on stored food using FIFO method
- Adapt to location and shift changes as needed
