Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in similar kitchen or hotel operations
  • Ability to lift equipment and supplies of at least 70 pounds
  • Ability to stand continuously for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure
  • Clear vision for reading reports and overseeing activities
  • Good hearing for effective communication
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods during peak hours
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong sense of urgency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in similar kitchen or hotel operations
  • Full understanding of knife skills and knife maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques including soups, sauté, grilling, frying, roasting, braising, poaching, and vegetable treatment
  • Familiarity with cold food cooking techniques
  • Strong knowledge of health codes
  • Solid communication and organization skills
  • Ability to effectively learn new stations within two weeks
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills

Job Duties

  • Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicers, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat-top grill
  • Prepare food items of consistent quality according to guest orders, following recipes, production, portion, and presentation standards
  • Uphold and maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Label and date all food containers and rotate stock according to policy
  • Check par levels for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and line setup
  • Communicate inventory shortages and related information with Chef and front-of-house team
  • Return all unused food items to designated storage areas
