Job Requirements
- at least 18 years of age
- pass fingerprint criminal background check
- pass pre-employment drug screening
- comply with immunization policies
- eligibility to work in the United States
- possess valid Texas driver license within 90 days if required to drive
- register with selective service if male between 18-25 years old
- flexibility to work various shifts and overtime
- complete required training and certifications
Job Qualifications
- twelve months experience cooking food in service operation
- knowledge of food preparation methods and sanitation regulations
- skills in operating and sanitizing food service equipment
- ability to prepare and serve food safely
- ability to maintain accurate records
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- basic math skills related to cooking and preparation
- ability to lift at least 25 pounds
- ability to work in hot and cold conditions
- ability to work effectively with coworkers and patients
- valid Texas driver license if required to drive state vehicles
Job Duties
- prepare, cook, portion, distribute, and serve food for regular and therapeutic diets
- follow prescribed menus, recipes, and sanitation standards
- maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas
- handle food in compliance with federal, state, and HACCP guidelines
- receive deliveries of food and supplies from vendors
- assist in serving food and handling cash in the hospital canteen
- complete necessary reports and document food service activities
