Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Two years relevant experience in a high volume restaurant, hospital, or institution required
  • Food Handlers Certificate (FHC) obtained within 30 days required
  • Ability to meet time standards required by production schedule
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Demonstrates initiative in assuming responsibilities
  • Must be cooperative, discreet and courteous in handling visitors and employees

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all areas of production including both hot and cold production
  • Understand how to read and prepare simple or complex recipes to department standards
  • Produce high quality products utilizing creativity and training
  • Suggest menu or recipe changes to reduce waste and ensure food quality
  • Organizes work for maximum productivity and avoids overproduction
  • Labels and dates foods according to HACCP standards and follows safe food handling procedures
  • Maintains kitchen and serving areas clean and orderly to exceed sanitation standards
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
