- must have a neat and clean appearance and practice personal hygiene
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent credential
- experience as a cook in preparing foods and cooking on a large scale preferred
- ability to follow dietary and safety regulations
- effective communication skills
- teamwork and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food items such as poultry, meat, fish, and vegetables according to a pre-established menu
- cuts and slices meats, vegetables, fruit, etc. as required
- creates and distributes special diet orders
- distributes meals to various units and retrieves empty food carriers
- cleans kitchen equipment, refrigerated storage boxes and kitchen, as well as emptying kitchen trash daily
- performs daily inventory checks on utensils and kitchen equipment to ensure safety and security of the residents and staff
- assists other food service employees in solving routine work problems
- performs accountabilities in accordance with established safety policies and procedures
- communicates with supervisors regarding issues related to workplace safety
