Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • basic knowledge of cooking and food preparation
  • ability to follow detailed instructions
  • willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • availability to work flexible shifts
  • basic communication skills
  • adherence to food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
  • basic cooking skills including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, and breakfast cookery
  • culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not mandatory
  • ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Learn and practice full job duties of an entry level cook
  • utilize company food and beverage procedures as well as health department regulations and federal guidelines
  • follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • maintain food cost and labor cost
  • check freshness of foods and ingredients and ensure all recipes and portion-use records are followed
  • be aware of all guest feedback scores and work to positively influence rankings
  • foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
  • perform other duties as assigned
