Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • no prior cooking experience required but basic cooking knowledge preferred
  • ability to follow food safety and handling procedures
  • capability to work flexible hours and standing long shifts
  • good communication skills
  • team-oriented mindset

Job Qualifications

  • basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
  • basic cooking skills including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, breakfast cookery
  • culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not mandatory
  • ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Learn and practice full job duties as a culinarian in training
  • utilize company food and beverage procedures, health department regulations, and federal guidelines
  • follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • maintain food and labor costs
  • check freshness of foods and ingredients and ensure recipes and portion-use records are followed
  • monitor guest feedback scores and contribute positively to rankings
  • foster cooperation and respect among coworkers
  • perform other assigned duties
