Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- no prior cooking experience required but basic cooking knowledge preferred
- ability to follow food safety and handling procedures
- capability to work flexible hours and standing long shifts
- good communication skills
- team-oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- basic knowledge of cooking and preparation equipment
- basic cooking skills including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, breakfast cookery
- culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not mandatory
- ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time
Job Duties
- Learn and practice full job duties as a culinarian in training
- utilize company food and beverage procedures, health department regulations, and federal guidelines
- follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- maintain food and labor costs
- check freshness of foods and ingredients and ensure recipes and portion-use records are followed
- monitor guest feedback scores and contribute positively to rankings
- foster cooperation and respect among coworkers
- perform other assigned duties
