Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year of recent experience as a cook or prep cook or equivalent combination
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No felony, theft or stealing convictions
  • Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background investigation
  • Must obtain and maintain gaming license
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and graveyards
  • Ability to communicate in basic English
  • Must obtain Food Handler's card
  • Ability to perform manual tasks like cutting, grabbing, and lifting
  • Must maintain professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, tools and machinery
  • Knowledge of safe practices in kitchen working environments

  • Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and manner
  • Organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to safely use and administer cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Knowledge of basic foods and their uses
  • Understanding of all food safety regulations
  • Ability to learn culinary methods, techniques and principles
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of management

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to menu and business demand
  • Uses and learns proper knife skills, cooking techniques, cooking methods and terminology
  • Reads, understands and follows standardized recipes for all food venues and outlets
  • Communicates with Room Chef regarding food/products needed and stock levels
  • Maintains a clean, organized and sanitized work area while adhering to health and food safety regulations
  • Ensures all assigned venue/outlet/kitchen areas are maintained and duties completed
  • Prepares venues to be ready to open by designated management times
  • Organizes and labels food storage areas including refrigeration, freezer, and dry storage
  • Cleans and maintains equipment, tools, floors, work stations and food prep areas
  • Works according to established casino procedures
  • Communicates effectively with team members maintaining a positive and professional work environment
  • Contributes to team efforts and accomplishes tasks
  • Performs other duties as required
