Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • apprentice for certification preferred
  • knowledge and ability to use all kitchen tools and equipment
  • must be able to identify all products used in kitchen operation
  • recognizes spoiled or questionable products
  • ability to read, comprehend and execute recipes
  • ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • ability to read and communicate verbally in English
  • written communication skills in English may also be required
  • employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations
  • must successfully complete C.A.R.E or TIPS training
  • must be able to stand for a full shift
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance

Job Duties

  • Consistently prepares hot or cold food selections to standards established by the Executive Chef
  • ensures that work area is kept clean and orderly
  • assist in training of new cooks
  • must be able to stand for a full shift
  • exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with customers or fellow team members
  • completes daily checklist and production charts as directed by supervisor
  • any and all duties as assigned by supervisor or management
