- Previous experience as a cook in a health care setting
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- knowledge of therapeutic diets
- ability to work in extreme temperatures
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepares hot food menu items for cafeteria, catering and patient meals
- follows recipes and/or product direction for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, slicing and serving meats, vegetables and other foodstuff
- follows all guidelines for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
- applies correct cooking methods and techniques
- tastes product, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records
- sets up food on serving line on time in proper quantities
- completes all closing list job duties effectively and timely
- complies with all Health Department codes and departmental sanitation rules
- maintains cleanliness in personal appearance, hygiene, food handling and food storage
- maintains equipment and work area in sanitary condition
- demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the population served
- performs other duties as assigned
