Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of one year of experience in food service or a related field
  • Must be able to pass ServSafe Certification or equivalent within 90 days from start date
  • Must possess knowledge of basic kitchen operations
  • Must have the ability to read and quantify recipes and menus
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignments on specified contracts
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, subcontractors, and management staff
  • Must understand oral and/or written instructions
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including background checks
  • Willingness to work early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, crouching, walking, climbing

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in food service or related field
  • Ability to pass ServSafe Certification or equivalent within 90 days
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen operations

  • Ability to understand oral and/or written instructions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eligibility for work assignments on specified contracts

Job Duties

  • Prepare large quantities of food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events
  • Portion food accurately and maintain proper presentation standards
  • Follow recipes and menus accurately by reading and quantifying ingredients
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, including passing ServSafe Certification within 90 days
  • Interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, subcontractors, and GCE management staff
  • Comply with all organizational policies and contractual requirements
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and climbing as necessary to fulfill job duties
