Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent credential
  • Valid NH driver’s license
  • Must have a neat and clean appearance and practice personal hygiene
  • Ability to work 29.5 hours per week
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to cooking and cleaning
  • Willingness to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Compliance with all state and facility regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent credential
  • Experience as a cook in preparing foods and cooking on a large scale preferred
  • Ability to follow established menus and recipes
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food items such as poultry, meat, fish, and vegetables according to a pre-established menu
  • Cut and slice meats, vegetables, and fruit as required
  • Create and distribute special diet orders
  • Distribute meals to various units and retrieve empty food carriers
  • Clean kitchen equipment, refrigerated storage boxes, and kitchen
  • Empty kitchen trash daily
  • Perform daily inventory checks on utensils and kitchen equipment to ensure safety and security
  • Assist other food service employees in solving routine work problems
  • Perform accountabilities in accordance with established safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding workplace safety issues
