Job Requirements
- no formal education required
- at least one year of related culinary experience
- certification as a food handler (Houston) or equivalent
- able to document HACCP log sheets
- must be able to speak and understand basic English
- capable of standing or walking up to eight hours per day
- able to bend, crouch, kneel, lift, see, reach, climb, and balance
- able to detect scents and discern flavors
- must be available to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- certified food handler's permit or equivalent (e.g., ServSafe)
- three years of related culinary experience preferably in a commercial kitchen
- ability to understand and follow standardized recipes and production sheets
- strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- ability to detect scents and discern flavors
- proficiency in basic English
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- prepares a variety of foods in accordance with menus and standardized recipes
- ensures food quality, sanitation, and appearance standards are met
- maintains clean work areas and assists with kitchen cleaning
- performs specialized roles such as grill cook, pizza maker, food prep/sauces, lead dishwasher, or baker
- participates in daily dishwashing and supervises dishwashing staff when assigned
- assists in bakery production under direction
- performs all other assigned duties
