Job Requirements

  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment knives tongs slicers etc
  • Must own a set of knives
  • Ability to lift push or pull up to 100 lbs and transport materials as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in confined noisy or high-temperature areas
  • Ability to perform duties in varied temperature ranges
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior cooking experience in a similar role required
  • Ability to obtain local state or federal sanitation or food service certifications
  • Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior cooking experience in a similar role required
  • Ability to obtain local state or federal sanitation or food service certifications
  • Experience following standard recipes and food safety regulations
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques

Job Duties

  • Prepare all station-specific food items according to standard recipes and guest requests ensuring consistency of product
  • Visually inspect select and use only food items ideal for preparation
  • Check and control proper storage of products especially stocks and sauces and monitor portion sizes
  • Keep refrigeration storage and work areas clean and compliant with health department regulations
  • Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean sanitized and in proper condition
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items applying math skills to ensure recipe accuracy
  • Maintain high quality of food production and presentation
