Job Requirements

  • Three to five years experience in high volume food preparation and cooking
  • Ability to read and follow production tickets
  • Competency in knife skills
  • Knowledge of food service safety practices and temperature control
  • Proficiency in use of multiple kitchen equipment including flat top grill, convection oven, deep fat fryer, quick cook ovens, and char broiler
  • Ability to perform various cooking methods including pan frying, sautéing, deep frying, boiling, and baking/roasting
  • Effective customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work varied days and hours
  • Must be able to assist with cleaning and sanitation

Job Qualifications

  • Three to five years experience in high volume preparation and cooking of food in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government or private institution, five to ten years preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in two or more kitchen stations if internal candidate
  • Less than high school education accepted

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of hot food items for all areas as indicated by menu cycles
  • Responsible for preliminary preparation of food items for next day as indicated by menu cycle
  • Read production tickets accurately
  • Assist with routine cleaning and sanitation of areas
  • Assist with serving food items as indicated by established workflow
  • Demonstrate competency in knife skills
  • Demonstrate competency in food service safety practices and temperature control
  • Perform cooking, plating and completion of dishes while interacting with customers
  • Assist with fruit and vegetable preparation and food portioning
  • Assist with preparing Grab and Go and other retail items
  • Take and fill orders verbally
  • Utilize flat top grill, convection oven, deep fat fryer, quick cook ovens, and char broiler proficiently
  • Use various cooking methods including pan frying, sautéing, deep frying, boiling, and baking/roasting
  • Demonstrate customer service and communication skills with guests
  • Assist with other duties as needed
