Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a food service environment required
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions
  • physical ability to perform job duties including standing, reaching, talking, hearing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to comply with sanitation and health standards
  • capable of operating cooking equipment after training
  • ability to follow recipes and production requirements
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a food service environment required
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions
  • ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • strong organizational and self-direction skills
  • ability to work well as a team player
  • ability to relate to people at all organizational levels
  • ability to operate cooking equipment after training

Job Duties

  • Cook food in large quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served
  • cut and prepare varieties of meat, poultry, and fish and demonstrate safe operation of tools
  • comply with established sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • read and follow recipes and production requirements
  • serve meals and assemble and pack box lunches for pickup
  • maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in dining facility interior and exterior in compliance with health regulations
  • follow standard operation procedures to ensure service consistency
  • perform other duties as assigned
