Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of food preparation experience
  • Culinary degree or equivalent
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods
  • Ability to kneel and bend frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold environments
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Must report to work on time and comply with all department policies
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Able to communicate effectively with chefs and team members

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Set up station and mise en place to chef's specifications
  • Cook food to order including burgers and meats using proper temperature tools
  • Set up, maintain, work and breakdown station maintaining cleanliness throughout shift
  • Properly store all mise en place at shift end including cooking, cooling, and labeling product
  • Submit production needs for following day by shift end
  • Communicate with chefs and production chef regarding daily production needs
  • Maintain proper rotation of mise en place for a station
  • Properly cook all lounge and hot appetizer proteins
  • Prepare simple sauces and dressings
  • Make purees proficiently
  • Be proficient in Middle, Pantry, Saute, Grill, & Barista stations
  • Follow exact recipes using scales when needed
  • Make manager aware of guests' comments and complaints
  • Report to work in a neat and acceptable manner
  • Help maintain a clean locker room
  • Report to shift on time and clock in and out for shifts and breaks
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for Food and Beverage Department and Garden of the Gods Resort and Club
  • Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures and assist in emergencies
  • Complete delegated tasks and assist other departments as needed
  • Practice safe and sanitary work conditions and proper food storage
  • Adhere to service standards including making eye contact and offering genuine smiles
  • Build rapport with guests and use guest last names effectively
  • Verbally offer guests additional assistance relevant to their needs before concluding conversations
