Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED preferred
- One year of recent experience as a cook or prep cook or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Must be 18 years or older
- No felony, theft, or stealing convictions
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check
- Must obtain and maintain a gaming license
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to work days, evenings, graveyards, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in high heat, noise, and exposure to fumes and steam
- Ability to maintain a professional work environment and appearance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One year of recent experience as a cook or prep cook or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and machinery
- Knowledge of safe kitchen practices
- Ability to communicate, read, and write basic English
- Ability to obtain Food Handler's card
- Outstanding guest service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, busy environment
- Professional appearance and manner
- Organizational and team coordination skills
- Ability to use and safely administer cleaning equipment and supplies
- Knowledge of basic foods and food safety regulations
- Ability to learn culinary methods and techniques
- Effective communication skills with management
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to menu and business demand
- Uses and learns proper knife skills, cooking techniques, methods, and terminology
- Reads, understands, and follows standardized recipes for all food venues
- Understands and completes all assigned tasks
- Communicates effectively with Room Chef
- Maintains and communicates food and product needs to ensure proper stock levels
- Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area following all health and safety regulations
- Ensures assigned kitchen and venue areas are prepared and maintained for operation
- Manages food storage areas including refrigeration, freezer, and dry storage to keep them clean and organized
- Keeps kitchen equipment, tools, floors, workstations, and prep areas clean and clutter-free
- Adheres to established casino procedures
- Communicates professionally and positively with team members
- Contributes to team effort and completes all tasks
- Performs other duties as required
