Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years culinary experience in similar role
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
- Ability to obtain necessary licensing and active work cards
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Food Handler Safety Training card
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate in English, read and follow recipes, and complete basic mathematical calculations
- 3 years culinary experience in a similar role, preferably in high volume, luxury hotel or restaurant, scratch-cooking environment
- Exhibit extensive sanitation and culinary knowledge and accurate knife skills
- Ability to work in an organized fashion and within a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure, be a logical thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment
- Ability to prioritize and follow through to meet deadlines
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required licensing or active work cards
- Culinary training degree preferred but not required
- Candidate must be at least 18 years old
- Requires valid Food Handler Safety Training card
Job Duties
- Responsible for preparing and finishing foods in the sushi station
- Meet quality standards and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment according to health department standards
- Assist the Chef de Partie and Chef as needed in execution of production
- Properly label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
- Apply adept knife skills required for preparation
- Break down work station and complete closing duties including returning food items to proper storage, rotating product, wrapping, covering, labeling, dating all items, organizing storage areas, cleaning food prep area and walk-ins
- Maintain accurate inventories and inform management of restocking needs to prevent product shortages
- Notify chef on duty prior to end of shift if unable to complete assigned tasks within allotted time
