Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written, oral or diagram instructions
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to work any shift
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach from floor level to six feet
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
- Ability to push and pull one hundred pounds
- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality
- Ability to use electrical equipment and sharp utensils
- Team oriented
- Working knowledge of carving and all kitchen equipment
- Ability to communicate directly with guests, management and staff
- Understand and comply with policies, procedures and job description
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts from a 2-year college or technical school preferred
- 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 3 Occupational Illinois Gaming Board License
- Illinois Sanitation Certification
Job Duties
- Understand and adhere to Grand Victoria Casino and Food and Beverage standards
- Obtain a basic understanding of the Internal Control System (ICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
- Ability to comply with and practice the Family Style Service Standards
- Confer with food preparation personnel to plan menus and related activities
- Utilize the proper preparation method for all food orders
- Responsible for the execution of all food preparation for shift
- Responsible for all cleanliness, safety and sanitation for assigned area
- Ensure food quality is at the highest standard, cooked and delivered on time
- Utilize the FIFO method for all items used in the area
- Responsible for accuracy of line in absence of Sous Chefs
- Perform all other tasks that may be assigned in the future
