Job Requirements
- legal authorization to work in the United States
- one year of progressively responsible experience in quantity cooking
- willingness to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
- compliance with drug screening and intensive background checks
- adherence to the Prison Rape Elimination Act requirements
- valid driver’s license if required by position
- ability to meet federal and state employment eligibility criteria
Job Qualifications
- one year of progressively responsible experience demonstrating knowledge and skill in quantity cooking
- experience in daily meal preparation in a restaurant, hospital, school, correctional facility or other large institution
- ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
- knowledge of quantity cooking techniques
- ability to prepare multiple food items simultaneously
- good physical stamina for kitchen tasks
- adherence to federal and state laws including drug screening and background checks
Job Duties
- assist in cooking designated entrees and other principal meal items as a regular and continuous work assignment
- prepare vegetables and fruits for cooking or salads
- assist in cooking vegetables in bulk quantities by lightly seasoning, watching and stirring while cooking
- prepare salads, sandwiches and other cold food items
- make coffee and toast
- boil eggs
- cook cereal, rice, macaroni, spaghetti and other foods which are simple to prepare
