Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years baking experience
  • Ability to work full time
  • Knowledge of food safety handling and hygiene procedures
  • Capability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods
  • Willingness to comply with company policies
  • Ability to use baking equipment safely
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to perform various kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of baking and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to upholding Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare breads and pastries including doughs and fillings
  • Proof, bake, and decorate baked goods as appropriate
  • Review production sheet to determine daily baked goods variety
  • Prepare and cook food following recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety compliance
  • Inform chef of excess food items for daily specials planning
  • Use baking and measuring tools and equipment safely and appropriately
  • Monitor quality and portions throughout shift
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and personal hygiene policies
  • Check and report appliance and food temperatures
  • Assist management in hiring, training, and coaching staff
  • Serve as a role model and mentor in the department
  • Adhere to company policies including safety and security
  • Report accidents and unsafe work conditions
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • Communicate professionally and build positive working relationships
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
