Job Requirements

  • high school graduation or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • certified in food safety and sanitation or ability to complete certification within 6 months
  • free from communicable diseases
  • ability to perform physical tasks required
  • willingness to undergo pre-employment medical examination and drug test including THC
  • agreement to background investigation
  • ability to adhere to department policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • graduated from high school
  • basic experience or training in institutional cookery, baking, record keeping, and cash register operation
  • working knowledge of food ordering and receiving procedures
  • knowledge of quantity food cookery methods and techniques
  • skilled in personal computer and industry-specific software use
  • ability to make decisions based on laws and department policies
  • ability to supervise and direct food service staff
  • ability to estimate food needs
  • ability to follow instructions and maintain positive working relationships
  • ability to perform physical requirements of the position

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve meals and food in a school kitchen
  • supervise food services personnel at the assigned school
  • order food and supplies accurately
  • receive and store food items
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
  • operate kitchen equipment safely and proficiently
  • maintain records and operate cash register
